DMB Management Applications
Network operations center applications and
remote management agents
Network operations and engineering support personnel need to monitor the health of the platforms in their network and be
able to configure, analyze and repair local or remote boxes to satisfy customer expectations. Cilutions' SNMP and Telnet software
agents come pre-installed in every Media Player set-top box that we sell. This makes remotely monitoring and configuring your network easy and reliable.
And because we use the SNMP standard, monitoring can be easily integrated into network configuration tools that an enterprise may already be using.
This makes your job easier! There's no need to learn a new, oftentimes cumbersome and expensive, proprietary management interface.
For customers running their network over the Internet, there are two components to our SNMP Management solution; the software Agent which resides in each Media Player,
and the SNMP Proxy Server software which resides at the head-end of the network. The SNMP Proxy Server is a Windows or Linux software service that provides
connectivity between an SNMP Manager and Internet-deployed Media Players. The SNMP Proxy Server software is sold separately, or for customers whose Media Players are deployed via Cilutions' Network, SNMP access to each Media Player
in your network is standard.

Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) is an Internet-standard protocol for managing devices on IP networks. In addition to Cilutions' media player set-top boxes, devices that typically support SNMP include routers, switches, servers, workstations, printers, modem racks, and more. It is used mostly in network management systems to monitor network-attached devices for conditions that warrant administrative attention. SNMP is a component of the Internet Protocol Suite as defined by the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF). It consists of a set of standards for network management, including an application layer protocol, a database schema, and a set of data objects. SNMP exposes management data in the form of variables on the managed systems, which describe the system configuration. These variables can then be queried (and sometimes set) by managing applications.

Telnet Access
In addition to remote SNMP Management, Cilutions offers remote Telnet access to each of the Media Players in your network.
This provides network engineers "low level" control of the file system of each of the Media Players deployed in your network. For example, with remote
Telnet access via Cilutions' SNMP Telnet Proxy Server and SNMP Telnet Agent, a network engineer can remotely log into the box to move
and delete files or examine individual processes that may be running. Telnet access gives a network engineer access to a Media
Player that SNMP Management does not.
For customers running their network over the Internet, there are two components to our Telnet solution; the software Agent
which resides in each Media Player, and the Telnet Proxy Server software which resides at the head-end of the network. The Telnet
Proxy Server is a Windows or Linux software service that provides Telnet connectivity between the Server and Internet-deployed Media Players.
The Telnet Proxy Server software is sold separately, or for customers whose Media Players are deployed via Cilutions' Network, Telnet access to each Media Player
in your network is standard.

What is Telnet?
Telnet is a network protocol used on the Internet or local area networks to provide a bidirectional interactive text-oriented
communications facility using a virtual terminal connection. User data is interspersed in-band with Telnet control information
in an 8-bit byte oriented data connection over the Transmission Control Protocol (TCP).
